Looking for product suggestions for mini brew room

Okay, I know that it's not a garage, but my concerns are the same. The size is only 118sqft, so I'm trying to find a sturdy, yet affordable set of products. I have some small cracks and spalls that I need to fill. There may be some other grinding that I need to do. I've been quoted 800 to get...

Yet another thread about insulating a block wall

I have a cinder block attached garage with one of the walls adjoining conditioned space. The wall is framed in and soon to be drywalled. The framing stands about an inch+ off the wall. There is no vapor barrier on the wall currently. What are my options when it comes to insulating that wall?

Framing over cinder block garage walls

I don't know anything about z furring. Potentially cost? what strength do they support for mounting objects to the wall?

Framing over cinder block garage walls

A few reasons - 1. To make it prettier - i'm kinda OCD with how clean i'd like my garage to look. I don't like surface mount conduit and electrical boxes. Right now, the entirety of my garage has one outlet, which is obviously not enough. 2. I honestly hate mounting on cinder block with...

Framing over cinder block garage walls

I actually don't want to use drylok. I'm in va so I'm debating whether I bother to insulate the walls. I probably will just because the walls are open.

Framing over cinder block garage walls

I would be nervous to hang the heavy items on plastic studs. I'll look it up, but I imagine it's out of my price range. I'm willing to lose a 1/2 inch if I don't have to drylok.

Framing over cinder block garage walls

From what I had read, I only needed to concern myself with a pt board on the base plate. The offset was to prevent direct contact of non pressure treated wood and the cinder block. I'm wondering if I did a poor job describing what I'm going. My house is completely finished. The walls of the...

Framing over cinder block garage walls

I'm going to be framing in my garage in the near future and need some confirmation of decisions I believe are correct. The garage walls are all cinder block, all above ground. 1. Am i okay without moisture barrier or drylok? 2. Is 1/2 offset off the cinder block wall adequate or does it have...

    Help with lighting plan

This is where uploading my drawing would have been helpful. The garage is essentially divided into 2 bays separated by a 2x10 beam. At this point, i have 4 lights in each bay (2x2 configuration) with the space divided up into thirds. how does that affect things? picture is attached.

    Help with lighting plan

I'm still working on figuring out how to upload an image to show the basic sketchup image of the garage.

    Help with lighting plan

As part of my garage reno, i'm looking at reconfiguring my garage lighting to brighten it up even more. I don't know what is an appropriate amount of flourescent fixtures at what direction/distances. I was wondering if any of the geniuses on here could help me out. My garage is 27'x24' with 8...

    Insulating garage ceiling

Files are attached. The third picture is looking toward the basement, you can see the darkened insulation. that is all dirt that has been absorbed due to air movement between the garage and the basement (located on the other side of the cinderblock wall). the rest are just different views of...

    Insulating garage ceiling

I'm only posting this because specific questions i have regarding insulation are not covered in other threads. Background: my garage ceiling joists run the width of the house and run directly into the basement. The people who installed the insulation initially did not block off between the...

Looking for a little shed building advice

I've been doing a bit of reading up on the wood flooring. A lot of people are saying that a 2x4 12"o.c. floor is not strong enough to support the weight of the shed. I think i'm going to bump it up to a 2x6 and kinda follow the layout that 964Haus put in. If i am using 2x6s with either a...

Looking for a little shed building advice

That is my plan. I know it's significantly more expensive, but i prefer screws over nails
