    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT 25' x 24' Single Bay Auto Garage

Not certain but from counting the 12”x12” tiles on the floor of the 12gauge garage, it would seem that the rear edge of his lift “pit” is approx 6.5’ from his door. This configuration leaves him just enough room to squeeze his Porsche guts out the back. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Great looking building. The view is incredible. Your question should be answered somewhere in the “12 guage garage” thread. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

If you had a narrower roll up door you could run the tracks over the collar ties and get that garage door opener up outta your way... crazy I know. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Oh man I like the look of those roof boards, it’d be a shame to hide those. Another route you could take is sheet the outside of the roof with rigid insulation then strap and metal roof or sheet and shingle. Then pull down that strange plywood gable and do a nice wide fascia board all around...

Ideal length of a garage for a 2 car post lift

I think you’ll be fine with 28’ that’ll give you about 27’ inside right? So if it’s an asymmetric hoist figure about 6’ in front of the post for a full-size pickup. So if the truck is 20’ long place the hoist posts at 15’, that’ll give you 6’ in front of the truck. Does that sound right? Sent...

Ideal length of a garage for a 2 car post lift

I think the rule of thumb from most hoist manufacturers is to allow 12’x24’ foot print. Add for clearance around the posts, and for bench/tool box room in front (as much as you can afford) I personally have mine squeezed into a shop only 21.5’ deep and it’s tight with a full-size truck. Long box...

30x40x14 doors on gable end or long end ??? Thanks

If you were in a snowy or rainy area I’d suggest doors on gable end. But in FL I don’t think those are real considerations.. ? Also trusses are easily sourced in either width so it really comes down to personal preference and how/what you’re using your shop for. Do you need multiple bay doors...

Need help with heating options on the cheap

Wood stove! Nice dry heat, ambiance too. A beer always tastes better sitting beside a wood stove too! Not much fun sitting beside a baseboard.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT Standard 2 car turned shop , Thanks Jack!

Hey guys, beautiful shop and great projects! Thought I’d throw in on the plywood bending. You won’t find it at the big box stores but your local lumber supplier or specialty wood source will have or can get bendable plywood for just such occasions. The sheets are bendable either lengthways or...

Above 1200 Sq/FT The Warthog Hidey Hole

Well that was my big mistake. No foot well, the hood is all toy box. I used a "crib" mattress because we had an extra one and it was about 12" longer than he was tall. I thought he would fit until he was 6 or 7 but nooooo...... lol! It's still 6" or so longer than he is but with all the...

Above 1200 Sq/FT The Warthog Hidey Hole

Hey sweet Jeep bed! I thought about using MDF too but ended up going with Baltic birch ply and left it "****" , my eldest loves it and my youngest can't wait to take it over! Now I'm thinking I'll build a roof rack to put the bunk bed on. A 109" Series IIA (sorta) [emoji41] If you turn the...
