I've seen a lot of vises, and this is not uncommon. The lettering was placed in the castings and it is not unusual to see inverted, reversed or missing letters or numbers. It is always cool though

I use 3M superlube. 100% synthetic, colorless, food grade. After years of experimenting, it's the perfect vise grease

No need to feel inadequate, that wasn't my intention, so I apologize. Every vise is an adventure. Where I live in the Northeast, there were a ton of factories and so, I live in vise heaven. I've developed a network of pickers who text me lots stuff every day. I am a lucky, lucky, guy

I agree, except that the jaw support was a weak point and in many cases, broken off. If anyone ever buys one of these ALWAYS inspect the jaw support for cracks. I will never buy one without inspecting it, unless it is from someone I really trust.

Your vise is a copy of a Bison machinist vise made in Poland. Here are a couple of glamour shots. I've had more than a dozen of the Polish made ones. Nice vises. The Polish made vises are worth considerably more than their India made copies.

They look similar but they are very different. The Parko rear moves not the front. Made by Athol. Very different. I've had lots of vandernan's, my first Parko
