You're right my reply was a bit snarky, I apologize. I know it's already been asked but posting pics of what you have would probably be helpful. It was a very simple job doing it as shown in the video that @BillK linked above. You mention that you were able to bend the track. What is keeping...
Definitely would be easier with some piers and a beam on top if that would meet building code. Block it off to keep critters out and I think you'll be fine.
I don't think you need to risk breaking the manifold studs by removing them. There looks to be a sufficient amount of good thread out towards the end of those studs that isn't damaged. Chase the 8mm x 1.25 threads, stack washers on the damaged section of the studs, and then install new nuts. I...
My portable generator was only used as a backup in case I lost power, which was rare. It seemed like every time I needed the generator the battery was dead. Stopped wasting money on batteries and just used jumper cables and one of my vehicles.
I went with epoxy coating and a top coat called Ballistix. Supposedly very resistant to oil and chemicals. It came in at about $7sqft so it definitely is an investment. I 100% agree to go with a single color. I did flakes on mine and although it looks awesome, I find it tough to find small items...
Works fine with an impact, but not sure it would be great for things like grinders/sanders. Plenty of air pressure but the tank is rather small. I have used it with a die grinder and a cutoff wheel, but just small jobs. Bought it mainly because it's the quietest one I could find.
So I now have a new toy to tinker with! I picked up this 68 camaro last week and have already started ripping in. The body and interior are pretty amazing, but mechanically it definitely needs some TLC.
Hey Dennis, look at the bright side! At least your shoulder is healed enough that you can get back in the shop. That must feel good. As for the Spitfire, yeah that *****! I agree with some of the others that a rebuild or used engine might be in your future but, if on a tight budget, I would...
I found a new in box Doyle 6" bench vise on Marketplace for basically half price so I snatched it up. My Craftsman workbench isn't particularly heavy duty so I beefed it up with 2x12's under the original top. I added some angle brackets and also bolted the table to the wall and the concrete...
Probably a good idea to build your own set from one of the online bolt suppliers. That way you get exactly what you need instead of a bunch of lengths you may never use.
Hey Dennis! Good to hear that you are on the mend. I still have some weakness but I try not to let it hold me back. It has definitely been a long road.
