Thanks guys. This is a 2-story structure, so some of suggestions won't fly. And the ceiling over this room is just 8' tall, so I can use the space above it for storage. I'm going to have my GC install a vent in the bottom of the metal exterior door, and then bolt an exhaust fan to the ceiling...

My new garage is nearing completion, and I noticed that the compressor room has no air vent. With a large, 2-stage compressor, I'll definitely need air ventilation in there, right? :headscrat The space is already sheetrocked and painted, and bricked on the outside. The easiest way to vent it...

Whatever light you choose, it should be sealed. The last thing you want is to spill gas and have it ignite a fire within your lighting solution... That's why I narrowed my search to the LightVault product from KIM Lighting. They are sealed and guaranteed to be corrosion-free.

If you're talking to me, my ceiling height is 13' and my walls are painted a medium gray, with a white ceiling. I think the reflectors will help target the light better, but I could be wrong.

Those actually look pretty good! And cheap! I never found those during my search. So I guess when I say that I looked at EVERYTHING, that might have been a bit of an overstatement. :Sleep:

I wanted to do this for my new shop too. I looked at EVERYTHING. You have to be keenly aware of the surface temperature of the light, as well as the light output. A pool light would likely burn your feet. I ended up deciding that the only light that would do is the Lightvault by KIM Lighting...

Jul 30 - wire transfer sent Aug 25 - lift shipped by EE (I wanted a black one, so they had to "make" it) Sep 20 - lift arrived in CA and cleared customs Sep 27 - lift picked up at warehouse here in Dallas Absolutely! By then, my shop will be functional.

I think you're right. Bummer. I don't plan on trying to fix it, but I just lost 2" of height at full stretch. Oh well, it'll still be the coolest lift install on the block. :thumbup:

Lane, I'm trying to figure out why my lift is so much taller than yours and Paul's. Can you compare your lift with mine in the picture below and let me know if yours has 3 nuts, with one that's painted? I'm betting you guys only have 2, or maybe even only 1, and that's what's making the...
