    I had some trouble adding images earlier. Here they are. I used a mix of 6", 8" and 10" bolts. You need to thread about at least 1/2-3/4" into the strut to get good purchase.

    It's not cheaper than a pre-made system, but I love the look and functionality (infinitely customizable) of my unistrut with long bolts, square washers, and spring nuts. You can change width between bolts, add more places to hang later, and some things may only need a single bolt.
