I think I see a typo here ;) I should have read this thread before I bought another gas powered car!

Expanding a Double and adding a Boat-Port in Calgary

Thanks Bob. So is it applied the same as any other automotive clearcoat? Just mix in the activator and spray with a ~1.4mm top HVLP gun? I assume any clearcoat would be of similar effect. Is the SPI stuff special in some way? I'll need to track down a Canadian distributor.

Hey Bob..... I never forgot you mentioning this many years back. I'm looking for a nice clearcoat finish for my dad's urn. It is made from walnut and maple. Would this do the trick? Do you just spray with an HVLP gun?

    Shop size help

I’m restoring a Jeep YJ in my 31x22x10. It’s a disaster in there. However the real killer is if you want a paint booth. For a vehicle that large it will be problematic. I’d say your design would be large enough if you don’t plan on doing anything else in there. (Ie parking, large floor tools...

    Canadian Tire DEALS

I picked this up for $169. I'm pretty impressed with it. I can't find the normal price but it lists for $500 on Amazon.

    Oil filter wrenches

I use these. I don’t have so many sizes that I can’t just buy one to fit. I also have a set of channel locks as a backup.

Thanks JB. It's nice to hear from you. I do try to keep up with your thread, but it's always moving! I asked him today how he felt about his first car being 35 years old. He looked at my funny. I refer to it as a clothes dryer on wheels. It blows hot air pretty much everywhere and has...

That's a good plan. I already told my son this is his first car (he is 8). He is super excited about the project. I hope Jurassic Park is still cool when he turns 16.

Expanding a Double and adding a Boat-Port in Calgary

Thanks Bob. I really appreciate that. It's been a rough year as you guys know. I lost my dad, my job, my truck and my wife. I'm a damn country song! But I think we can get through this for the better, together or not. It's been good for us as people. Total side note, here is the YouTube...

Expanding a Double and adding a Boat-Port in Calgary

Hey guys, thanks for checking in on me. It's been an eventful year for sure. I do review GJ every few days, but haven't posted much. Honestly, the biggest issue is that I like to tell stories with pictures, and that is so challenging to do on GJ since Photobucket broke the internet (which as...

Autocross is a great idea. When I did some road-coursing, my understanding of driving changed a ton. I know this might be a bit out of the price range, but an older Porsche Boxster would be ideal. I routinely watched those crush people on the road course. In tight spaces, they were always...

    Oil Weights and use?

I used to start my 1991 Chev Lumina (3.1 V6) in about -35C without the block heater. It never had an issue. I credit that to the oil. That car ran 436,000km until I put some 20W50 in it and blew the engine one summer. What an idiot...

    Oil Weights and use?

My dad was a big believer in using 0W oil in GM products in the 80's and 90's. We lived in Saskatchewan where the winter temps were extremely cold and the 0W oil helped the cars start in that cold. It never damaged the engines and in fact, the 1991 Lumina I had lasted 426,000km. All I'm...

Re: Woody's Works Garage - rebirth! Great write up woody. I have two of the First Alert units. They make noise and send a notice to my phone. I don’t recall reading anything about codes in Alberta needing hard wired but I could be wrong. In an emergency I would really need a UPS powering...

Tell me more of these cloned sensors. My Vibe will only accept a single set of sensors, so I just put electrical tape over the lamp all winter.... Those wheel skins are very cool. I've never seen that before either. You are also the only person I know who would ever look into the science...
