    need a hex socket set

I have broken so many Craftsman hex sockets I consider them a consumable at this point…. I have a Tekton 1/2” impact set and Tekton 3/8” chrome set now. Between the 2 I can do pretty much everything I need/have encountered. Have not broken one yet, but I’m sure it will happen.

Thinking about retiring my USA Craftsman tools

I don’t think setting aside your old tools for family is a bad idea. I recently put most of my 20+ year old Craftsman set away and started building up a new collection with some nicer stuff and some comparable stuff.. with no skips of course… I would highly recommend treating yourself to a few...

    Must have Snap On items?

I don’t own a lot of SO and I only buy SO used/like new but used (eBay). But the stuff I would buy again… semi-deep sockets and some of the pliers.

    Most comfortable work boots?

I am pretty picky on boots/shoes, I really like these for causal wear. I have pretty messed up feet. The first time I decided to get custom boots was a complete let down that I’m still kinda pissed about(Nicks), the second time was life changing (JK Boots). Worth every penny...

    Need a New Lawn Mower

I bought a very lightly used commercial Honda mower On Facebook marketplace about 7 years ago. It was a pricy but it’s built like a tank and gives me no trouble cutting my weed farm. on power equipment I always go with the “buy once, cry once” mentality. My mower, saws, trimmer, etc will...

Need advice, putting together tool roll for car.

How old is the car? In my modern vehicles I carry a compressor, smallish 1/4” tool kit, jumper cables, flashlight and a AAA card. Anything more advanced repair I’m not attempting on the side of the road or in a parking lot. In my off-road vehicles it’s a different story. Much more in-depth tool...

Look out Knipex, here comes ICON!

$70 for a tool that will probably last for many years compared to a $40 tool that might last for many years doesn’t really sound all that expensive. Im not a HF or Icon hater but I’ll pass on these and stick with the real thing.

Chrome sockets...the topic has been beat to death yet I don't know which way to go...

I recently decided to get all new 3/8” stuff. When using chrome I reach for the semi deeps first so got a Koken set in metric and a new unused but second hand set of SO in SAE. Shots and deeps I went Tekton. I’m more than happy with the Tekton in my home use situation. If I were dead set on...

Ordered an M12 cordless ratchet, what will I use it for?

It took me awhile to embrace the the electric ratchet. I do my automotive work in the driveway so half my time is spent on my back wedged under a car where space is at a premium. In those situations the smaller profile of the ratchet works a bit better for me. I typically will use a traditional...

    HF Icon box discount ?

I don’t know…. The guys that constantly interject stuff about how you should just buy Harbor Freight anytime a Snap-On question comes up seem just as bad.

    Show your new tool arrivals

I have a couple sizes of adjustable pliers and some needle pliers that are great. The diagonal cutters have been a bit “meh” for the price. Sharp handle edges, super stiff, a ton of metal chips and grit left in the joint. Don’t get me wrong they are by no means bad and they are built like a...

I have not been overly impressed with Snap-On cutters for the price the finish work seems a bit meh. But man those Icons are bad.

    Chainsaw sharpener!

I love these things. A couple swipes after each fill up and good to go. And my chains last about 3 times as long as my coworkers that use the grinder.

    HF Icon box discount ?

Yep. I did that for my 72”. Brought the price down to 2 years ago level. Should have bought 2 years ago. Lol
