What do you think about them? I'm local to Harry Epstein and was happy to find out that they carry some Ko-Ken tools but almost all of their socket sets are Surface Drive instead of 6 point.
A family member will be visiting Japan (Osaka) in a few weeks. Will it be worth it for them to pick up some tools for me while they're there to bring back to the states? I have a Nepros NBR390L and want some Koken socket sets but I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle vs ordering from Palmac.
It's been two years since my last Palmac order but do they not offer free shipping over $199 anymore? I have the Ko-ken RS3300M/12 socket set and some other sockets in my cart and shipping is about $23. I edited the quantities so that the cart is over $400 and it's showing a shipping charge.
Can anyone recommend a thin shaft #00 screwdriver? We've been using Wiha precision screwdrivers for years but the quality has gone down and this particular bit from Japan has praises from other techs being that it fits very tight and they don't worry about stripping the small screws. I tracked...
Ordered these at different dates they got here today from Amazon Japan, Amazon UK, and Palmac.
Nepros NBR390L
Ko-ken extensions, universal joints, regular 3/8" sockets
Stahlwille 14/17
I'll try to compare them to NT Cutter blades. I use them for very detailed work and they are very sharp out of the box/package. This is the distal end of an endoscope. There's normally a plastic cap that goes over the end, and an epoxy seal that goes around the camera (the bigger glass in the...
I got the packages from Amazon Japan and Palmac today. My immediate impressions of the tools are that they're good quality but not Snap-on level quality. I'm just going by heft and how they actually feel when picking it up. With my dry hands I can feel the micro burrs in the metal of the sockets...
I got a Trusco Y-350 from Amazon today. It's smaller than I thought even though I knew the dimensions. The paint is vibrant and makes me want to collect them all. IIRC someone in this thread said they have 15 of them??
I just noticed they have a Y-410 which is a little bigger at about the same...
I have a couple Vessel philips and a ball grip if you want to feel before purchasing some (in KC). I had the Wiha picofinish set but like these better. I also have some PB Swiss soft grip but they may be outside of budget of you're looking to get a complete set.
Epstein is in downtown and KC...
Do kitchen tools count?

Tojiro F-687 ITK Bread Knife 270mm
I got the paper catalog from Ko-ken USA yesterday (free with no shipping fee) and it's so much nicer to flip...
I took your guys' advice and ordered the regular Ko-ken sockets. The Nepros and OLFA stuff is from amazon.co.jp and the Ko-ken stuff is from Palmac.
The prices on these particular Ko-ken items are cheaper on Amazon Japan but the higher shipping costs (~$20) makes it about even with Palmac's...
