    What is this item?

I saw the word ‘Elin’ on the sticker on the motor and googled that. I had been Googling the type of motor (asynchron) and getting no luck. But when garage.girl asked for the motor tag, ‘Elin’ jumped out at me and I though I haven’t looked that up yet. I have managed to find a free download of...

    What is this item?

Yes it is similar to them as the planer is connected on two rods like that. But it’s the letter ‘M’ stamped on a number and f place that has me stumped. I was thinking it stands for Milwaukee but not sure as can’t find a photo of a Milwaukee brand just stamped with the M. It’s definitely some...

“I can never date those engines.” Every engine has a serial number, and you just find out what number yours is see where it fits between the two different numbers for each year start and end. Mine comes in as a 1936 engine. I have cleaned off the electrical system and now have spark from the...

    Lister D engine

Thanks for the link. I will contact them but was hoping someone had a pdf version of it they could email me. I will keep in looking on the internet and see if I can find a free version, as most of them I have seen so far you have to pay for.

    Lister D engine

Hi everyone, Does anyone on here have the rebuild manual for a Lister D engine? And do you know of any problems I need to look out for on them? I am not sure of the year yet as I am looking at it later today, but do know the magneto is still connected to it. Any help really appreciated 🤓

    Testing battery charger

I thought that was the right way, and I was testing my circuit and getting no reading back. My light on the charger said it was on, but nothing was happening. So I left it overnight and this morning things looked exactly as they were last night. So today I decided to take the battery charger...

    Testing battery charger

Hi again, I am having a go at electrolysis and have everything set up, and want to plug it in. But..... My battery charger is a old one, it has two switches on the front for 6v and 12v, and another for slow and fast charge. So..... How do I know what voltage my battery charger is giving out? It...

    Rust-Oleum verde green

Hi guys, I am looking for a can of Rust-Oleum hammered verde green paint to repaint a vice I am restoring. From what I see it only comes in a 12oz spray can in either 1 or 6 cans. The problem is, I live in Ireland, and can’t find this paint anywhere here. So is there anyone over in the USA...

What sort of vice is this?

Is “swivelocity” a word? My shed is a wooded one with a wooden floor, any suggestions on how to mount a vice so the floor survives? I was thinking about cutting a hole in the floor and sinking a metal I beam ( girder) into the ground and mounting the vice on that. Any better ideas? Thanks...

What sort of vice is this?

Opps , yes the 4th picture was a different vice, it’s a record no 4. Picked them both up at the same place, but clicked the wrong photo when uploading. Paid €40 or $45 for both, so not to worried that one is an import, the record no 4 makes it for it. I only gave bench room for one though, so...
