The clamping force should be 31 metric tons when 60kg is applied to the end of the handle, and its gonna be a bench vise weighing in at an estamated 400kg.

Just got done making the handle for my 12 inch vise!I'm yet to put the radius of the ends, but damn, is this thing gonna be pretty looking.

Update on my vise project I just got a 3D scan taken of the base vise so I can start getting quotes from foundries Also I just ordered the materials for the screw and the handle and the final weight of the screw will be approximately 50KG!!

what material should i use for the handle on my 12-inch vise?

im going to get the original vise 3d scanned next week so I have a cad file to work with and I've been planning on getting it made with cast steel.
