    Thanks, I've come to that conclusion, just because its old doesn't make it good. A lot of good input from people I've learned a lot. Never noticed the possible made in China on the collar. Thanks, at least I know now.

    Thank You everyone for all the input and I really appreciate the help. One last question, all the screws on this vice are SAE coarse threads. Would a foreign vice manufactured in the 70's or earlier have all SAE threads?

    The handle is very heavy I don't believe its plated at all. I had to do a lot of sandpapering and polishing and if was plated I believe I would have worn thru it.
