Is this really bad for the garage door? Or not a worry?

Doesn't your opener have a safety release cord hanging down that they could have pulled to release the door? If so, why were they so stupid that they didn't just pull that and slide the door open?

OK. Thanks for the info. I've seen it for a long time but never heard anyone say anything about it. :lol_hitti

    F.y.i. Japanese style saw horses

I like it. Might try to make some next time I am on my days off. I've got a few 4x4's laying around taking up space. Plus I need some saw horses.

    Rustoelum deck restore 10x

We did the regular restore last summer. Spent almost a month doing an extremely large deck surrounding our above ground pool. Spent around $1500.00 in product. (Yes it is that big). It looked good after we put it down. We followed the instructions to the letter. So imagine our shock this...

    Electricity Usage

It is an overhead service. Right now there is nothing plugged in. I have only been working for one week out of the month as I'm gone the other 3 weeks. I will check the usage as I'm working though. As far as the amp clamp's, are the cheap ones at harbor freight good enough for what I will...

    Electricity Usage

Man, all great responses. Thanks. I am currently in Japan so when I get home on Wednesday I will be doing these. Unfortunately, there is no spinning wheel on this meter, just digital. (At least as far as I remember there is no wheel.) I've been wanting to get one of those...

    Electricity Usage

Hey all, I have a question that I hope someone here can help with. We bought a house at the start of the year and have been remodeling for the last 4 months. We are not living in the house and only have an alarm system and a radon mitigation system drawing power. Nothing else. According to...

    What's your work day?

Asking what my day is like is like asking which way the wind is blowing. It changes all the time. I work anywhere from 5-14 hours and start duty anywhere from 6am to 6am, (24 hours a day). It makes it hard to get on a good sleep schedule. But I get paid well and have good benefits so it...

    Foreign Appliances in USA

 Ahhh, that had me laughing pretty good. I know, I know. What is it with these women and their comfort? :dunno: I'm good with going out in the bushes and using a leaf. But alas, she can, and will, make my life hell if she isn't comfortable. I guess that is why I work as hard...

    Foreign Appliances in USA

Yea, me personally, I don't care. I never use the ones that are in all the hotels over here. But my wife hates being cold, so I gotta keep her happy. I was wondering what the draw for them would be. I was looking at some literature that I picked up at the store on them and it appears to me...

    Foreign Appliances in USA

That is something that I was wondering about also. If there was some way to reduce the voltage just enough. This will be in new construction so I can do whatever is possible. Also, for whoever said the Japanese are efficient, I used to think that also. Until I started working over here...

    Foreign Appliances in USA

Ok. Thanks for the replies. They are labeled as 100v 50-60hz. So looks like I will try and find a model made for international use for sale over here. Not the easiest to find. Or **** it up and pay the US price.

    Foreign Appliances in USA

I have a question that I hope the community here can answer. We are building a new home and we want to put the washlet toilet seats in the house. Obviously, we are 120/240v in the US. I work in Japan and can get the same seats at about half the cost of them in the States. However, in...
