Not sure on that, but I will say I noticed that the batteries seem to not fit nearly as tight as on the drill. Try the same battery on the drill as the impact... Do you see the same particles on the drill connections? I've noticed this on 3 fuel kits so far so there must be a reason, but not...

Alright guys, I went from an aging Dewalt 20V DCD985 to this new Fuel 2897-22 kit. Sooooo much more smooth running than my Dewalt drill, even when the Dewalt was new it sounded like it had bad bearings LOL. Now 4 years later it sounds really noisy like bad bearings mixed with scraping gears...
