I started using one after keeping one in my travel tool bag and then it migrated into my main tool box and then started getting used more and more and here we are lol.

Man, the used ones are not cheap lol. Looking now. Its more cost effective to buy a whole set.

    Impact sockets

Might look at Proto. Can get them on Zoro with a discount code and they are reasonable. We used them when I worked at the railroad and they held up very well.

Old vs New Snap On Line Wrenches

An older guy I'm very close with has a bunch of older SO tools he bought from his dad who ran a truck in San Antonio decades ago. I would guess 60s and 70s. Anyways, he has a set of line wrenches that I use regularly that have an open end and flare end. I have no idea what year they are but they...

    New ratchets

Of those 2 I only have experience with SO and they have been excellent. The 80 tooth series has been around a while and is proven. I actually just ordered a new one yesterday. The 3/8 long handled, locking flex head version. I also have the regular long handled 80 tooth and it has been awesome...

    Show off your Screwdrivers!!!!

Nowadays I neglect 99% of my screwdrivers and just reach for one of those 10n1 Kleins or a similar Proto I have. If I have a need for something unique like a P3 I'll reach for the SO but other than that, those multi-screwdrivers are my go to.

The Snap On breaker bar that could

About 10 years back I worked part time at an offroad shop setting up rear ends and found myself occasionally having to use crush sleeves to set pinion bearing preload. I used spacers whenever possible but sometimes it was unavoidable. Anyways, for a good while I used nothing but a standard...

Long term Wright wrench reviews anyone?

I see lots of posts talking about the 2.0 Wright wrenches but haven't seen anyone give a long term review on them and how the chrome is holding up. I mention the chrome since people have mentioned getting brand new wrenches with flaking chrome. I've also seen a few threads where people mention...

    Snap On FK100 Thoughts

I haven't used the 100 tooth but have had a lot of success abusing the 80 tooth cousin. I actually ordered an 80 tooth locking flex head one today. The long version. I imagine it will be my go to from now on.

Open ended 6 point SAE/ Metric wrench set (Manufactured in US or Japan)???

The problem with the Proto 6 point kit is that it only goes down to 3/8. I prefer a kit that goes down to 5/16 since I regularly deal with 6 point 5/16 ujoint bolts and I've had too many 12 points wrenches slip on them. My little 1990s 6 point 5/16 wrench does just fine. In the metric set of...

Hardie siding - studs or OSB

OSB it is. As for not caulking the joints, why? I had anticipated flashing and caulking just because I figured the caulking would give a better finish.

Hardie siding - studs or OSB

I'm installing some Hardie lap siding and before I get too far I wanted to get opinions on attaching it directly to the studs or is it preferable to attach to OSB? I know both are acceptable but is one method better?

SK appetite on a Tekton budget - part 2

I have a set of metric and standard offset, reversible GW ratcheting wrenches and abuse the Hell out of them. They are always in my travel tool bag, too. Just handy. I can't speak for the Tekton, but the GW have been great to me.
