Shelter Logic setup for a 3039R John Deere tractor (open station)

I had one in Alaska and it worked well. IMHO....If you have any wind or snow load, you need to anchor each leg of the frame really, really well. In my case, I had a concrete slab and drilled anchor bolts in for the legs.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Worked on assembling the 1971 Honda SL350....

"Whats your favorite tool and why?"

For woodworking, my wife bought me a garage sale Shopsmith years ago to use and fit into our garage. While dedicated stationary tools might be better, I still enjoy taking the time to properly set up Shopsmith and make good cuts.

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT Starting a 40' x 30' three car garage with an in-law suite in Georgia. Need Opinions

FWIW....I think I might open up that second floor some. The peak to peak areas (both side to side and front to back) have the most ceiling headroom. On the top floor layout, I would pobably have the bedroom where the attic storage room is, the living room centered towards the front over the...

Tractors and plows and yard equipment, etc....

FWIW....A larger tractor can handle bigger jobs, and an older, but maintained tractor can be a bargain. I use my IH 674 for everything from spraying, tilling, grading and mowing. Standard 3-point attachments are readily available used. The IH excavated the foundation for my wifes studio and...

Anyone use propane for heat? what are your thoughts?

I have a 1000 gal tank that feeds the house and a new detached 950 sq ft, well insulated, workshop/garage. I paid up for an efficient Rennai wall heater for the workhop side that is set for standby 38 deg (to keep things from freezing) when the work shop is not in use. The separate garage side...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT My 34 x 26 Workshop

The 8:12 is just steep enough you have to be careful and take some safety precautions. I was lucky enough to have the tractor and built a work platform off the bucket!

    swivel head ratchet recommendations

I have the Titan 11076. I find it real handy for things like spark plugs that are hard to get at. No complaints. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002VMBT4G/?tag=atomicindus08-20

    Paint versus powder coating

You might consider Por-15. That stuff is pretty tough.

    Question: Maintaining an asphalt drive

Looks in good shape to me. Honestly....water is probably your biggest enemy at this point. Make sure that you fix any drainage issues (ditches or failed culverts, in example) if they arise and repair any potholes or cracks that could allow damage to the subbase. At some point if the cracking...

I don't really have any pictures of the tractor, but it is a 1976 IH 756 diesel with a DuAL loader and a bunch of miscellaneous attachments that I have picked up. It's pretty reliable and I try to keep up routine maintenance. One of my next jobs is to build a tractor shed to keep it covered...

The final exterior is Hardie plank with LP Smartside cedar trim. The windows were Eagle that I had been collecting from garage sales for about 5 years. I was able to trench in the electrical and gas lines during the fall. Electrical is a 100 a panel with a 240/50 kiln circuit. I'm currently...

With the trusses in place, I started on the roof. I used Rolex soffits and trim to match the house, and Owens Corning duration shingles. Again, the tractor was handy for not only lifting shingles but the bucket was modified as a work platform for shingling.

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT My 34 x 26 Workshop

I had ordered 8:12 trusses early in the year to match the house roofline, but with prices of wood skyrocketing, I let it sit over the summer. That was probably a good thing as prices did come down some and lead time for the garage door was 6 months. I started framing in late August with the...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT My 34 x 26 Workshop

My garage was closed in late last fall, but I thought I might share some of the build. So far, I've been a one-man crew, but I did hire a finisher for the flatwork and an electrician for rough in. So here goes... My project started last spring, I did the dirt work and gravel placement using...
