Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT MY HIDDEN IN THE WOODS WORKSHOP

As I enter into the last quarter of my life, it was time to put what I'd worked hard for over 45 years into having the "special" place where I can go and do the projects I enjoy. No time clock, no Supervisor...just my own schedule. It's been my light at the end of the tunnel if nothing more than...

So, I just bought this little dude for my shop...more for looks than use I guess but, who knows. It's an Estate 240 Caboose wood stove. They were used during the 1920's to cook and heat in the railroad cabooses. I like collecting the old railroad stuff and this added to my collection nicely.

This building used a unique rafter that incorporated not only the roof but the upper floor deck as well in one unit. It's super rigid but it wasn't cheap to have them made on the mainland and ferried over to the island.

I got the roll up doors hung. Concrete work under the carport is next and around the building. The inside is all taped and finished now too. It's my dream shop coming to life.

Thank You, it really is nice here. I take my coffee and make this walk each morning (just finished) where the walk takes me down to the lake. The wife and I worked over 40 years each , saving up our pennys and we bought this land parcel back in 2012...it's been a labor of love. Yeah, living 20...

It wasn't too bad, the worst part was the County made me build a curtain drain around the entire build area to collect any rainfall that might happen to send it down the hill. It's 3 foot deep, rubber lined and filled in with 1" rock. The area is in arain shadow and gets about 1/2 the rain that...
