    Throwing Away Tools

As best I can tell, I haven't worked on anything roadside since 1990. I carry a single 10mm wrench, a screwdriver and some duct tape.

    TSA compliant multi tool

I had to remove the blade from my Wingman to remain workplace compliant at my last job. I replaced the blade with a small washer if I recall.

    Multiple Spares?

I once took some crappy triplicates and put them in an old ammo box. I kept them in my truck when I went dirt biking or camping. If anyone asked to borrow a tool, I told them if they could find what they need in that box, it's theirs for the keeping.

Up to what wrench size are you expected to have at work?

I only worked one place that required you to bring tools to the job. It was basically 3/8" drive sockets, both metric and SAE to 19mm and 3/4". Wrenches to match. Various screwdrivers, pliers, etc.. Everything else was supplied by the shop such as larger sockets and wrenches, pullers, etc.. We...

What do you do with your included assembly tools?

I put the allen wrenches in a zip lock bag and throw the other types of wrenches in the trash.

    Anyone else like Channellocks?

#422 is my favorite as well. Perfect for hoses, both garden and clothes washer supply lines.

Sometimes I think I live in some separate reality. Behold, the Makita Screwdriver Machine Inflator thing.

There's one of those drill derived inflators being marketed on late night TV. Probably all come from the same manufacturer. I would imagine HF offers one too.

    Free Orange Thread Locker

I thought orange threadlocker was just a euphemism for rust.

What is your most valued tool?

Either my Klein needle nose pliers or #422 Channellocks. I've previously had both hands injured in work accidents and neither work as well as they used to. My pliers are my force multipliers (see what I did there) for every day gripping and twisting action. One or the other is always close by.

Easy good way to put new handles on files with out one

Whenever Dad was describing someone lacking in mechanical skills, he'd say "That guy couldn't put a cob handle on a file."

    Let's see your toolbox.

I have seen and handled the current C'man three drawer at Lowes. It's pretty lightly constructed for the asking price. I would probably look for an older one on Ebay or Craigslist.

What to do with tools that just don't sell?

Giving away tools is like sowing the seeds for future GJers. Win-win!

What to do with tools that just don't sell?

Put it at the curb with a "FREE TAKE" sign on it. If nothing else, the scrappers will take it.

    Get a replacement from Dorman.

Setting up new garage. Best things you've done

Good lights. Good heat. Good refrigerator. All the rest is mere details.
