    American made tungsten for TIG

Ignorance is no excuse, but other than the desire to buy American, is there a difference between tungsten quality?

    Bender plus fixture table

Can you share the brand of that welding table?

    I hate mices

I use the B.O.D. method, or BUCKET O' DEATH. I take a homer bucket, and fill it up with water to about 4 inches from the top. Then sprinkle a cup or two of sunflower seeds on the surface of the water. I'll use a narrow piece of wooden trim board or make some 2" strips of wood on my tablesaw -...

    Is garage lust dead?

If you got the fever, you got it, and nothing else will suffice. if you don't then you don't. I think DIY and wrenching your own vehicles is as strong as ever. I just think the OP just sold his house to people who do not appreciate his work and what the shop with the lift would facilitate. I...

Suggestions for small, secure window fan?

Precisely. My brother has a damp garage, and he uses a dehumidifier, and a room fan to circulate the air. It works well.

Order of Components for Compressed Air in Garage

AH! I'm glad that you mentioned this, because this was going to be my addition to the party as I was reading through the posts. A looped system is a healthy system. ;)

    Garage door window privacy ideas?

I've got patterned/frosted window film. There's one corner I can discretely lift to peek at what's going on outside. Otherwise, I get all the light and no peepers. I live in a real rural area - you can hear the trees growing out here - however, anyone who pulls into my drive may be encouraged to...

How do you store your funnels?

I have a 5-gallon container that I use for waste oil. When its full, I transfer the waste oil to a 275 gallon tank that I have in the shed (which I burn in my old tractor 50/50 with kero). I nest all my funnels in that container.

    Dry Ice blasting,anyone try it?

Soda blasting is not entirely environmentally-friendly. the sodium bicarbonate will kill any vegetation it comes in contact with. Many guys have purchased the pressurized soda blasters from Harbor Freight, myself included, and proceeded to blast away at whatever project they have in the...

Embarking on a New Shop Journey.

I'd also like to apologize for the wordiness (verbosity?) of my posts right now. I love GJ, and I'm just looking for a medium to help me work through a few things. I should know if they accept our offer soon, and I'll start posting pics and keep this thread as a journal of me transforming the...

Embarking on a New Shop Journey.

This shop is one of the perks of moving there, and this whole move thing is generated and steered by my wife. She's the one with all the cash. All I have is a military pension, which she doesn't ask for a dime. However, I pay my own way. No toy I buy is ever with any of her cash, unless she buys...

Embarking on a New Shop Journey.

I know this. I'm a Maine native, and I've lived here in NH for 25 years. I do agree with you, however. Sometimes the heat is simply brutal, even though we live in the mountains. My current house is located at the southern base of a mountain, yet we are in kind of a hollow here. The river is...

Embarking on a New Shop Journey.

A wood floor in a woodshop is de rigueur, but since my shop is primarily machining and fab, anything less than steel or concrete is dangerous. Chemicals spilled, hot sparks, etc. I also weld in my shop too. I would also like to remind you that a solid floor in turn makes for better accuracy...
