I have a hundreds of pounds of good vintage vises, they are way to go often..but if i had to buy new would go with a doyle.

Carhartt makes plenty of tough work clothes..they are no where near levis...their full swing coats are fantastic. If they cost too mugh buy irregular, or the 40 percent off sale carhartt has every end of season. If someone really wants old carhartt, ebay has tons...all sizes and conditions.

Vises are made from cast iron...soft. the anvil on vises is a parts shelf really

The doyle is way to go, unless you have patience to find a nice used...the central is junk

They need to get their act together, service what they sell, offer singles etc..

fake bearings are rampant, along with spark plugs..hard to avoid unless buying from a known distributor

do parkers have to be driven out backwards? they are tapered?

they are often cheap too

some companies have smoother castings than others..no breakouts on the letters on your parker though

you did well the jaws look intact.. i only have one parker so im learning about them a bit, but they are well made. give it a nice bath in paint stripper and pressure wash

Would rather use devcon, lil pricier but stronger
