Everything is disposable I guess. Except my workbench I built with Benchcrafted components. It's a piece I hope someone luckily finds in an estate sale after I'm gone and continues to use into oblivion.
All done. Cleaned and coated with Penetrol. Need to let them cure for a few days at least. Not sure where I'll put them yet as I'm running out of workshop room.
Think these belong here, even though they’re parts holders.
Picked these up for $30 each.
Left has to be cleaned, right has been cleaned up with an Evapo-Rust dip and the scrubbed with CLR. So a pretty good before and after.
Plan is to hammer some of the more egregious bits back into...
Last bit of felt installed.
A small sample of the process. I use the blue tape so the spray adhesive doesn't flock around the edge to the opposite side. I opted for spray adhesive as it's easier to work with.
And here it is! Not sure what I'll do with it. Was considering using for a watch...
Yeah, I recently picked up some 18 drawer storage containers. They're a nice blue but have patina too. Plan is to clean 'em up and then clear coat for protection.

Before (top) / After(bottom)
Fully installed handle:
All of the rivets have been installed. Was the worst part of the job. I really dislike them as they are difficult to get below...
Yeah it's very nice and so glad I went with it.
I can see an argument against it because it's darker so tools and stuff may not stand out well against it compared to the green and red offered up, but I'm not sure I'll be using this as a tool chest after this resto. May be too nice to let it...
Three weeks later supplies finally arrived. New brass Gerstner tag, and blue felt for relining the drawers etc.
Still need rivets which are on order. Then it'll be done and dusted. Only felted the tray to start. Will tackle the drawers soon but can't finish until the rivets are here because...
Small Gerstner update. Two weeks on they still can't figure out how to ship my replacement bits out lol. They can't provide a replacement key or offer a re-chroming service even though they highlight that option in their 'top-tier' refurbishment program.
Overall I'd say they are a sub-par...
