Thanks for all the response. I’ll keep you posted when I get a chance to take it apart.

Think my next move will be to open the door till the internal is exposed, then I should be able to figure this out. Just hope I can do this with the roll still in place and not have to take it down.

I finally figured it out.

I have 2 videos of the door but can’t upload them. if I knew what format they needed I could convert them. I’ll be looking again tomorrow to see if there is any pin.

Update. My brother and I got the door up but couldn’t find any connection between the chain and the drive. We’re thinking about dropping the door and unrolling it to expose the internals. Where would you find the parts for these doors if we actually need to replace anything?

Ok I’ll check that out tomorrow and report back. any chance there would be a blueprint or operators manual (brochure) that might show the locking mechanis?

I have a garage roll up door, commercial size. The pull chain used to roll up the door has suddenly stopped rolling up the door. The roller used to bring the door up and down just spins on the chain side but no motion on the opposite side. The shaft rolls freely In both directions. Any idea...
