i got that p.o.s. belt 6 months ago at advance auto parts. used it to replace a worn gator back belt. i thought maybe the spacing on the ribbed side is a hair different than the ribbing on my pullys. it sure makes an obnoxious,ear piercing screech if you don't keep it sprayed.

i have a belt on my 01 ranger thats just the opposite. it squeals when its dry. never heard of such a thing. i've replaced the idler pully ,alternator, and the tensioning pully. the only way it stops making noise is if i shoot it with silicone spray. it will then be quiet for a couple weeks. way...

that concrete wall might have been a fire barrier. i had to have a fire wall on the side closest to my neighbors property to meet city code. weird cause its closer to my house than it is to his.
