Is there a Japanese brand tool set (1/4 and 3/8 sockets, wrenches, drivers, etc.) that is well packaged? I know of the KTC sets but can't find one I like. And Tone has sets too, but nothing interesting there either.

Makes sense. Thank you. I'd love to pay more for a made-in-Japan set but I guess there are other Japanese manufacturers for that.

Sorry, I was asking about the Vessel Ratcheting driver. The ball part separates into a short driver, right?

How easily is the ball removed for the short driver? Also how easily is the switch moved? I'm interested in this driver but worried that the ball can be removed too easily or that the switch would be moved by accident?

Saw this and dont think it has been posted recently. Engineer has a bit to remove destroyed hex bolts. Comes in sizes to remove M2 through to M6 hex bolts that have been damaged...

Tone ratchets are Made in Taiwan, but still very good tools imo.

Ko-ken are primarily known for their sockets and their nut grip sockets are probably one of the sets that are most prominent. You can get quality sockets from many manufacturers but a socket that uses mechanical grip to hold the bolt is fairly rare.

Picked up two t-drive bit drivers in anticipation of snowboarding season. Both Made in Japan. Anex 370 The Anex 370 has a bit holder in the black part of the handle. Very smooth ratcheting mechanism. Vessel TD-80 TD-80 comes with a set of bits which is nice but ideally there would be some...

Japan doesn't do Black Friday fwiw. So any "Black Friday" deals would have to be found on American etailers.

My preference is for the Beta Mini. There are two versions. 900/C39N traditional hex sockets 900/C39U gear lock hex sockets Beta updated the set case in 2023 to black. Previously it was orange. Same tool set. OLD Version (below)

Project Farm did a broad test of 1/4" ratchets and the Made in Japan ones did pretty poorly. I know that failure load is not necessarily the key factor for selecting a ratchet, the Japanese ones did the worst by quite a bit.

I posted my Ko-ken set a while back here: I don't want to put that one in the truck.
