FWIW I shot for 100fc in my garage that's used for general purpose things like what you mention. I'm very happy with the results, I certainly wouldn't want less light. I was able to do it without breaking the bank by finding a deal on a ton of old 2x4 fixtures and settling for fluorescents. My...
