    Matting under Racedeck

Seems to me considering the high cost of Racedeck, or who-ever's tile floor, the last thing I'd want to do is put down liners, pull up tiles for cleaning spills or dead bugs over time. Sounds like a long term hassle.

    Matting under Racedeck

So even if there is a liner underneath a Racedeck tile floor and I spilled oil or chemical on the floor, wouldn't it get trapped under the tiles? Unless one peeled up the floor on occasion and potentially clean or replaced the liner, it would be a trapped mess.

What are/(were) your most USELESS tools?

The Harbor Freight 1/2 Ton Capacity Capacity Pickup Crane with Cable Winch. After stupidly drilling holes in my truck bed and installing this disaster, while attempting to lift a 6 cylinder engine block into my pickup, the winch catastrophically failed (teeth stripped), dropping the block 4...

    Mouse Milk spray

I've used 'Mouse Milk' for freeing frozen or rusty hardware as a penetrating lube for years, just in a small bottle not a spray. It's really not intended to be used as a lubricant like WD40 or PB Blaster. MM works where no other penetrating lubes fail. A little bit goes a long way due to the...

Compression - Show Off Your Compressor

Good eye, yes it is! CPVC to be exact. Okay, now here comes the lecture and debate about the use of plastic plumbing for air distribution. 1. It works fine. 2. A machine shop across town has been using CPVC pipe for several years with no explosion nor death.

My garage smells better than yours.

Reading this thread, the theme from the movie Deliverance' was playing in my head. Don't need photos thanks. The image of cooked squirrel and squirrel gravey was enough.

    Hornets' nest

If you don't have any hornet or wasp killing spray handy, I've found PB Blaster kills them just as quickly. Wait till night, then spray into and onto the nest. Between the fumes and soaking the paper walls with the stuff, they'll be dead in seconds.

    Argh! Lost some tools

When I was reading the title of your post, I immediately thought 'I wonder if he has teenage boys with cars?' Then upon reading, I discovered you actually lost the tools, they didn't just mysteriously disappear, as what happens to my tools when my kids are around. Frankly I'm surprised the...

    Steel Frame Garage Kit

I'm thinking about adding a second detached garage and found this idea to be interesting and economical. Because only the framing is steel, the outside of the structure is sheeted with OSB or your choice of siding and roof type. The structure appears to be stick built rather than a...

    What color to paint?

Many moons ago, I was service manager in my uncle's John Deere dealership. The shop was a dingy off white with various layers of diesel soot. I decided we needed to clean the place up and paint to try and brighten it up as well. I made the management decision to paint the walls yellow, with a...

    Choosing a welder?

I recommend Miller, made in the USA and great support. Lincoln and Hobart are made in the same factory and uses plastic wire feed drive parts. Miller uses all metal drive parts.

    Needing a new drill.....

If you can wait until closer to the holidays, Home Depot and Lowes always have some pretty deep discounts on cordless power tools. Last year I picked up a nice Porter Cable kit with drill, circular saw, sawzall, two batteries and charger in a carrying bag for $110 ay Lowes. I've beat the ****...

Shipping a car / pick up truck

I second that comment. Shipping with UShip can be a total Gong Show. I shipped a boat from Arkansas and it was expensive and difficult.
