Dago, the hood was closed and perhaps that caused a buildup of gasses. Lesson in precaution learned in proper venting. I’m actually running a modern battery with two caps that cover three cells each. This is nice car, but not period correct $$$ battery nice! lol

Yes, car on the lift. The finger locks were engaged and I always untension the cables a bit. I did look at the garage door lift mechanisms and nothing seems out of place, door cables have tension and doors operate up and down normally. I’ll check air fittings, good thought. Thanks
