    Polyaspartic low temperature install?

All, I know that I should have allowed much more lead time to complete my shop project, but I have tentatively scheduled my polyaspartic full flake floor installation for December 13th. I’m in Connecticut, so daytime temps could be low 40s & nighttime mid 20s. The shop will have heat. The sales...

    Mini Split BTU measurements?

Times are sure not normal-electricians here are charging $1700-$2300 day… No natural gas here, no propane installed on the property & I can’t dig up the slab for radiant, I’m already way over budget. I’ve just ordered the single head 18K unit. Many thanks for your input-very much appreciated!

    Mini Split BTU measurements?

Thanks for your input. It’s a dead simple install, but this is Fairfield County, labor rates are unbelievably high, driven in part by the real estate market.

    Mini Split BTU measurements?

Sorry, I wasn’t being clear. I’ve got a 23’x31’x10’ detached garage. 733 sq ft. Slab on grade. Full attic (unused) above. R19 in the walls & ceiling. Drywall walls & ceiling if that matters. R17 doors, which will open twice a day max. I’m in Connecticut, so winter nights can be -5F & summers...

    Mini Split BTU measurements?

The quote states that you get full heating down to 5F & that the minimum outside temp for heating is -13F. Meanwhile, their quote for a 24 single zone 2 head unit states that it will actually provide less heat, 24K, at the same 5F temperature. The 2 head 24K unit is 30% more $ than the 18K...

    Mini Split BTU measurements?

I’m getting quotes from a couple of HVAC contractors to install a single zone mini split. I believe that I need 24k BTU. The lowest quote (from the guy who appears to be the most competent) is for a Mitsubishi MSZ-FS18NA & MUZ-FS18NA system. The specs give a unit size of 18K, but the specs (and...

    Am I being oversold?

So you’re saying that a single air handler is going to need fans located on the floor or elsewhere to move conditioned air around? That could be quite a pain. Overhead doors will not be opened frequently, less than 1x/day. I want to heat to at least low 50s & cool to upper 70s, even when I’m...

    Am I being oversold?

The plan is to have a contractor do this

    Am I being oversold?

Thanks, definitely making sure that the unit will be -15F-capable.

    Am I being oversold?

Planning on centering the air handler in the middle of the long wall. It’s 31‘, but the farmost 11‘ are taken up by my pickup...

    Am I being oversold?

Guys, I've been reading everything here, trying to find a duplicate of my situation: I have a 23' deep x 32' wide x 10' high detached garage that I'd like to heat & cool. I'm in SW Connecticut. It normally doesn't get below 10F during the day, maybe -5F at night, summers are hot and humid...

    23 x 32 Best heating solution?

Guys, I've been reading page after page here to try to come up with the best heating solution for my shop. I really could use some expert opinions. I have a 23' x 32' x 10' detached garage. It was originally built as a race car shop. The 2nd owner removed the garage doors and converted it...
