Workshop on Lake Lanier - 40X50

I haven't logged onto this site in quite some time, glad I did. I too have been putting off building my ultimate workshop. I'm happy to see you are, it gives back the motivation I lost. I'll be following your posts :)

    220V outlet in garage....

Thank you! It took me a few minutes of reading, and re-reading, to figure out what you were saying (but that is my ignorance on the topic). I get it now, thanks to the chart posted a few lines down from your post. I will either take your suggestion, or tap off the box with a 20A and invest in...

    220V outlet in garage....

only 3 wires in the box, two hot coated and the copper ground. Works great for the welder. Not gonna work for the compressor? Would the compressor work if I put a standard 110v cord on it? I found some stats on the compressor: Motor tag: 230v/13.1A Compressor serial tag: 240v/15A

    220V outlet in garage....

Ok... I am not completely ignorant on electricity, but I'm by no means an electrician either. I want to be able to plug this air compressor: with this plug.... into this outlet: Is it possible to use the current outlet? I can change the plug on the compressor if the current is compatible...

Chicago Electric Angle Grinder... HF deal

I've burned up the red and blue ones already. I'm working on the black drill master right now, but after 6 months of cutting, grinding, and sanding the bearings in it are not nearly as nice as they were when new. I do like the switch on the Drill Master the best, and for the price I have no...

    Beer keg grill?

humm... well I don't have a plasma cutter, yet (haha). I'm hoping that with some ear protection I can accomplish it with either the grinder or a saw. This just made me laugh. I was thinking that after I finish the grill I may attach it to the tongue of my trailer... it would be a great spot...

    Beer keg grill?

smart ***... I already did that. But most of the members of this site like to show off, I was giving them a chance. Plus, I was hoping to get some insight to problems and things they would do differently. I guess there is always at least one in every crowd. :lol_hitti

    Beer keg grill?

well ya know... I just assummed it was aluminum. It is the standard half keg that we area all acustomed to from those college keg parties. If its stainless.... even better. I'm still waiting for some pictures though ;)

    Beer keg grill?

Hey Friends... I have an aluminum half keg that was never returned and the deposit slip was lost years ago. I tried returning it with no luck... so, my question: Has anyone ever cut one of these things in half and fitted it as a BBQ grille? I have all the tools capable of doing it, but this...

Looking at New Hobart 140 vs used 175?

Sorry it took me so long to respond BlackDeath... I must have had the notification turned off. I purchased it from Cyberweld for $712 out the door. They had the option for $100 more to get the spool gun, but I wont need to weld aluminum anytime soon. I'm very happy with the price and their...

    6 x 10 utility trailer build

Great build thread! I just finished a trailer for my own use. Converted an old pop-up trailer, its not as nice as your custom build... but it works great on my riding mower too. I take it you build A LOT of these? What does the one in the build sell for (if you don't mind me asking) in your...

Looking at New Hobart 140 vs used 175?

Well I ended up buying the Hobart Handler 190... and today was the first time using it. I must say, a wonderful machine! It is different than the small Champion FCAW I was using, but I'm sure I'll manage to adapt ;) Thanks everyone for the input.

Looking at New Hobart 140 vs used 175?

Hello all! I'm new to your forum, found it by accident trying to determine which route to take when buying my first MIG welder. I currently own a Centrury FCAW that has been fine for the few go-karts and mini-bikes I've used it on, but... I'm ready to start a new (more expensive) project and...
