Excellent advice, thank you for that. It makes a lot of sense. I hadn't heard of "oil impregnation" before. That's pretty cool how it moves oil through tiny little voids within the metal.
Directly under the widest part of the bushing there is a channel with a wick like material pressed into it...
I'm just putting polishing wheels on it, so I wont be doing any heavy work. We'll see how she holds up.

Did you just drip the oil into the side of the bearing? Yours looks nice by the way. And I know what you mean, someone already put some shims in mine. It's not perfect, but it's a nice little machine.
