    Garage interior walls?

Still a work in progress, but I'm doing a corrugated metal bottoms, withe OSB on top. The trim is leftover 1/4 strapping. It has an "industrial" feel, and it looks nice. Kinda time consuming, but I pay myself a good hourly rate

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

My dane/mastiff mix, named Lexi. Shes 16 months old. Loves the shop, but gets board easily. Spends most of her time begging me for treats, so I cant get any work done.

Well, its cold and snowing up in Vermont. I work for a woodstove company, so business it good. I was on GJ looking for ideas, and figured a post a recent picture of my garage. Let me rephrase...my "shop". We dont park in it, I work out of it. I restore vintage woodstoves, and am restoring a MK1...

    Non-combustable interior wall options?

Above all, respect the clearances listed in your manual. NFPA allows a 66% clearance reduction, UP TO 12”. (12” is the minimum) as other people have stated. Example would be sheet metal with a 1” airspace, the important part is it has to be vented-open on the top and bottom. I used “fire...

Next was putting in boxes, and running wire. It took 490 ft of romex to wire everything.

I had an electrician friend do all my wiring. He charged a reasonable rate, and was neat, and didn't waste time. I ended taking power from my house. Step one, burying the line.

Here's the roof completed. I also framed in the end walls, and added a window to the front gable end. The window I used was taken from my living room, when I installed the woodstove. Door installed side note, can I rotate these pictures?

Well, we decided on green tin, to match the house. We made a template out of the top sheet of tin, and pre-drilled the tin on the ground. I strongly recommend doing this if you putting on tin roof. I stayed on the roof, and was handed up the sheets. All I had to do was zip a screw into each...

Strapping went slow. Up and down the ladder a few hundred times before I got someone on to run the saw, so I could stay on the roof. I doubled the strapping on the top and bottom, and spaced it 12" on center. It may be overkill, but not having plywood on the roof, I wanted it to be strong. I...

I was told by the truss shop that they would set each truss in place with the boom, but when the driver got here, he said he didn't have time. So there they were, 15 massive trusses stacked up, sitting on my walls. This was a Tuesday morning so of course, we couldn't get any other bodies to help...

Alright, I'm gonna try and get you guys up to date. The truss delivery was exciting. I was nervous that the boom operator was gonna drop the trusses on my car, but of course, he didnt.
