    Quincy 310 compressor unloader valve

Well, I think I fixed it. I figured I would try to shoot some WD-40 into the little ports on the unloader and see if it would free something up or take care of some rust in there. Let is soak a while and fired it up and no air escaping! Who knows how long it will last but seems to be fixed for...

    Mounting a Vice - Ideas?

I used some channel iron and made a stand and mounted it to the ceiling support pole in my garage. Nice central location. Sturdy and doesnt take any floor space.

    Quincy 310 compressor unloader valve

I had looked it up when I got it and it was splash oiling up until ROC 20 and that is when it changed to pressure oiling. Mine is ROC 10 so is splash oiling and the three way valve is controlled by centrifugal arms inside to open/shut the unloader. When I get some time I might take the unloader...

    Quincy 310 compressor unloader valve

No this is an older one that has a centrifugal piece on the block that sends pressure to the valve. The later ones have the pressure switch of some sort.. This one is not pressurized oiling.

    Quincy 310 compressor unloader valve

The air is definitely coming from the little ports under the value. Must be something internally not sealing. Like I said it's not a lot but can hear it while running. I wonder if there is some adjustment to the centrifugal "switch"

    Quincy 310 compressor unloader valve

I can hear/feel air coming out from under the unloader from the little ports while the compressor is pumping. Not as much as when it stops and relieves pressure, but some. Is this normal? Thanks in advance for any advice!

ok, he emailed back and said he accidentally gave me the wrong info 2hp should be 628 rpm. Sounds more like it.

Northern Tool Ironton Electric Compressor Motor...opinions??

Well, I called Quincy and the guy I talked to didn't seem like he knew what he was talking about. He said it should be at 550 rpm and that most people use a 5hp motor. The pump is rated for 1.5-3hp so I find that hard to believe. Then he started talking about the pump putting out 500psi or...

    Quincy air compressor wiring help

Your going to need info on the motor itself for anyone to give you any advice. Just take a pic of the nameplate on the motor. BTW I'm probably no help but just know that is what the others will need to help you out.

Northern Tool Ironton Electric Compressor Motor...opinions??

Makes sense....basically don't max out the capabilities of the motor. Good idea on calling Quincy, I'll give them a call Monday.

Northern Tool Ironton Electric Compressor Motor...opinions??

I didn't use the other motor long enough to see how it kept up. The bearings were noisy so I took it apart to replace them and ended up dropping it and breaking the plastic starter piece so. Gave me a good excuse to get a better motor. It was a 12amp motor with a SPL hp rating. Here is one of...

Northern Tool Ironton Electric Compressor Motor...opinions??

Well I ended up getting it. It looks brand new and is GIANT! It is about a foot long and 10 inches round. Using some online calculators it figures to be 2.85hp. I plan on getting a 5.75 inch pulley to go with the 14 inch flywheel so should run right at 700rpm.....or should I go bigger since it...

Northern Tool Ironton Electric Compressor Motor...opinions??

It seems like this motor would be better than the old motor and equivalent power to the northern tool one with the benefit of the lower rpm and higher SF rating. Am I thinking right?
