i just anchored my A-frame onto an existing pad.....i was thinking about pouring concrete around the base of the frame for water run-off. Can i pour concrete onto existing concrete? or will it just break apart within a year......should i use grout?......should i drill holes into the existing...

just about finished with my overhead patio when low and behold BAM!!! city inspector slaps me with a citation...."stop work until i get a build permit". What a rookie mistake, i should have got the permit to begin with but i thought that i wouldn't get caught. I'll post pics soon, it's coming...
