Let's take a cabinet door, for instance. It appears to be built of several boards edge-glued together. Did you do the gluing or did you find pre-glued panels somewhere?

Agreed. Depends on how you use it. For a woodworker, sealing or applying Formica might make them a long term solution. If you're gonna beat on them, you need to cover them up. Metal is ideal, but a sacrificial tempered hardboard top might be the deal short-term.

I've had a good HFF trailer experience. My daughter is still using my 4x8 fold-up. But in the past year, I bought one that turned out to have two brackets welded on 1 1/2" out of place, a too-short wiring harness and the damned thing still isn't square!:mad:

Did you have a home inspection done when you bought the house? If so, the inspector should have picked up this obvious code violation and you may be able to assert a claim for the cost of fixing it.
