Why do you say that? 10K lift, 8k truck. Position it so it's balanced and have adaptors for the frame.

garage Roof/ Rafter Insulation... To Vent or Not to Vent ?

What about having an unvented, insulated attic with a steel roof? I'm trying to figure out how I'll insulate the garage I'm planning. I'd need R38 up there. Ceiling would be vaulted (gambrel trusses) with drywall.

Thanks! 6 feet away from the property line (fence) I looked up the specs for a 2016 model. It lists ~80" wide without mirrors. I mocked up 84 inches wide. The truck is nearly 19' long. There is ~6' of space between the side of the truck and the wall, if it's centered between the 10' wide...

Here are some quick sketches of how I see the layout. I figure the walls will fill up with shelves pretty quickly, once I figure out where the windows should be placed. The back wall with the work bench is the south wall. Most of the sunlight comes from that direction. Is it ok to keep the...

I really like your build, and I've learned alot just from reading the thread! Those joist hangers look serious!

Yep, there is a full basement under the house. It's finished with 4 bedrooms. There is a full french drain built under the foundation and a sump pump. The land is relatively flat. We had it slightly graded down from the house on all sides. Not quite a visible slope, but it keeps rain water away...

The shed does obstruct it a little but it's not a deal breaker. I can add a curve to it. It might line up better with a door like that anyway. I'm open to different ideas, but I'm having a hard time visualizing the the deck on the roof. I would need to shovel that in the winter as well...

We have 3 young kids. Youngest is 3, oldest is 9. No more kids incoming. We closed the factory. The back corner opposite the build site is our hang out spot, since it's shaded and has trees. We have bonfires out there in the summer and fall, when the bugs aren't too bad. A boat would be...

    Truck Wheel Overhead Storage

It makes a huge difference, not just on snow, but when it gets cold. The compound stays soft and grippy when it's freezing out, whereas summer tires get stiff and slippery. Where I'm from, you can get ticketed for running summer tires between December 1st and March 1st. 4x4 or AWD won't save...

No problem at all. You're the one helping me out! Yeah, we're both members. We both grew up here.

Awesome job! It looks so much easier with a beefy trailer. Do you live next to Arthur Two Sheds? :D

Just to drive home the common sense issue I brought up earlier, here is an aerial of a residence that was built in the last 10 years. There is a big old church that tourists come from the world over to see in the frame. This is to give you an idea of scale. No, there isn't a big family...

It's definitely different than most towns, that's for sure. I have a couple of pictures to start with, to get an idea of the lot. The lot is 80' wide by 140' deep. The yellow lines are the boundary lines, where the pins are. The bottom of the picture is South. Road is North. There is 14'...
