Mr Big Maxx 125k BTU - wifi thermostat that allows changing fan delay shutoff time?

Thanks for the reply. I did finally find the info I lost from the other night, looks like it was the ecobee. I wonder if this only applies to more advanced HVAC systems like you said and not simple garage heaters. From Ecobee's FAQ:

Mr Big Maxx 125k BTU - wifi thermostat that allows changing fan delay shutoff time?

Hey guys, My Big Maxx fan seems to keep blowing for a few minutes after the gas shuts off. I'd like to reduce the fan delay shutoff time since it's blowing mostly cold air after the first 15-30 seconds. I'm looking for a wifi thermostat and thought I found one the other day that allowed you to...

Vapor barrier on top of steel paneled ceiling?

Hmm, that is a good point. Will have to think about that...probably worth a little trouble now vs a lot more possibly later.

Vapor barrier on top of steel paneled ceiling?

Thanks guys, I'm going to leave it with just tin and blown-in cellulose. I'll focus on the gaps, this one with the big roll-up door is going to give me the biggest challenge. It's higher than the ceiling-line...will have to build the ceiling up around it somehow.

Vapor barrier on top of steel paneled ceiling?

Going over tin ceiling posts, I've noticed a couple of people putting plastic barriers above their steel paneled ceilings in between the metal and insulation. Curious if that's the right move for my situation. I have a shingled roof and was going to use 14" of blown in cellulose on top of the...

Where to start looking for help with insulation/heating?

Thanks! I think you're right about the 8' span bulging with tin. I ended up just going with the 2" to the walls for now and 14" of blown-in above the ceiling. I'll be working on the ceiling asap so they can do that part. Figured winter is coming fast and I need to get my biz revenue going again...

Where to start looking for help with insulation/heating?

I am overloaded with info on this...never would have guessed there would be so many insulation options, almost too many...seem to be able to read opinions online about them for days. We are doing a lot more home renovations on the new property than expected so I'm taking a little more time with...

    $4500 vs $9k for insulation

Any thoughts if 2" XPS between the girts only and then closed cell spray foam over the top would be good enough for Michigan climate? Have a 40x60 pole barn w/ metal walls (no vapor barrier) and shingled roof I'm trying to figure out what to do with. Friend of mine that is handyman-type said 2...

Trying to identify a fluorescent fixture

Thanks, I will look into replacing the bulbs with LEDs. Looks like there are some good videos on YT showing how to convert the fixtures, good thinking.

Trying to identify a fluorescent fixture

Hey guys, we are moving and I'm trying to fix two T12 4-ft long 4-lamp fixtures that seem like the ballasts are shot before we list the house, neither turns on without flipping the light switch on and off a few times and then one of them flickers nonstop. We have a weird setup where the...

Where to start looking for help with insulation/heating?

True, guess I should consider which is fastest since I’m not partial to one way or the other. This will basically be a storage-type “warehouse” but will be used for some other various non-industrial work certain times of the year, usually in the fall/early winter.

Where to start looking for help with insulation/heating?

Good point! I thought I had it in my profile but doesn’t seem to show up. I’m basically near Ann Arbor/Canton, MI if anyone has SE Mich recommendations, would love to hear them. Thanks.

    Heating a pole building

Interesting thread to follow. Sorry to sidetrack, but what vapor barrier are you going with or is that TBD?
