I assume you have seen this post on bimmer forums (https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?2384527-E12-lowering-performance-suspension-options&p=30094167#post30094167). "Thanks. As a bit of an update for anyone that may search for something in the future, I think I have figured out...

That would be the way to go, could raise the spindle as much as your wheels allow. I'm struggling through the modern problem of vintage sports car handling. My 911SC has been restored with stock suspension, but is not exactly sporty by todays standards. How far does one go trying to make an...

Gregor, I will reiterate what Katie Said. You really do make pretty things. Your photograpy for this thread, your professional work you give us glimpses of. The things you build or refurbish. Thank you. -Kelly

Beautiful E12! I lowered my 1976 530i and it resulted in a pretty wollowey drive. I replaced shocks with Bilstein B8s and springs with H&R Sports. I think it had a roll center issue in the front, probably needed a spindle raise. You may want to consider that if you are lowering it! Great...

Beautiful. I had a 76 530i that I rehabbed and sold a decade ago. Still looking for a clean one to do it again... That transmission swap looks like fun, let me know if you need an extra set of hands! -Kelly

    The Bimmer Basement

I've been daily driving my old aircooled 911sc to work for the last couple weeks. I agree it is in the process, rev matching, double clutching, taping second to get 1st to engage, precise shifter motions to even engage gear. All of this to KEEP UP with traffic. My Tesla Model S on the other...

I had Auto Weave in Wheat Ridge do the stitching on the webs. Very interesting owner that does high end 911 restos. I tried to get up to FuelFed Sunday. The SC made it halfway before my brakes gave out... exciting trip but not the kind I was expecting. I'm not in the local car scene, spend my...

I ordered these https://www.seatbeltplanet.com/i-30498133-3-point-lap-shoulder-retractable-seat-belt-push-button-buckle.html. Only kept the reel and webbing, transferred over my OEM SC parts, took it to a local upholsterer to stitch the end on. He charged me $30. I was apprehensive about...

Nice, progress looks good! I replaced my reels and webbing with generic sets from Seatbelt Planet. Transferred over all the parts from my originals and kept the receptacles. Couldn't justify the cost of OEM. -Kelly

Now that is a leaf blower. Really amps up a tedious task. I have a similar temperament DFB. Very calm and easy, rarely provoked. I try to remember all these silly people have something going on in their lives. Perpetually angry dad, spilled coffee on themselves, people who undermine them...

Sorry if my tone was bad in that post. I was genuinely interested as I was getting the feeling there was a ton of allegiance. I don't think american car buyers typically know the underpinnings of the vehicle they buy. But funny enough, it is a high mark to claim something has European...

Hey DFB! This is a very interesting point you have raised. Capitalistic American companies had Australian automotive production monopolized. They Squeezed and everything died. I am not really surprised they did this, but your specific loyalty to American badges is very interesting. Are...
