Just finished this little one and they are built very Well Micah.

Charles Parker #60. 2-1/8” jaws that weights 8-1/2 lbs. Swivel releases from under the bench.

Fulton model 22-1/2. 5-1/2” jaws that opens to 8-1/2” and weights 117 lbs.

Nice work. Look forward to seeing your finished Reed and your insert jaws.

Charles Parker 108. 8” jaws that opens to 13-1/2” and weights 245 lbs.

Charles Parker 378 Swivel Jaw. 4-1/4” jaws that opens to 5-1/2” and weights 42 lbs.

Looks like the Dynamic slide’s support has broken and then braised back In place. What ever plan you have in repairing this vise can be used as practice since the braised support was repaired.

Weld them up like you mentioned and re work them. Cheapest way out. No pics so can’t comment.

Hey Bear. Not that easy to machine but would love to see how you make your split nut. Please post your work. I might have a drawing of your split nut if you give me the major diameter of yours.

Prentiss #43. 4” jaws that opens to 6” and weights 37 lbs.

Columbian 605-M2. 5” jaws that opens to 8” and weights 70 lbs. Just finished restoring this one for a vise collector on the island. New jaws, handle’s and Bronze wear washer.

I’d be all over that Kurt vise. Bridgeport if picked up for under a grand might be a diamond in the ruff.

Thanks Sky. If you close the vise and take a measurement of the square slide‘s length then I’ll have the max opening to record. Here is a 5” Rock Island jaw drawing to see if it is the same as your jaws. Thanks for the great pics and your lucky to own this vise.
