I did this a while back. I found a socket on the ground. Soaked it in vinegar for a couple of days. Although I put it as a week in the picture, the vinegar was completely muck by the end of the week. The actual soak time for the socket was only a couple of days.

If the intake manifold gasket is sealed perfectly, the brake cleaner wont have any effect on a running motor. If the intake manifold gasket has a vacuum leak, the brake cleaner will get sucked in, combusted. The effect would be some momentary irregularity with the running motor (increase rpms...
