Mr heater big maxx 50k with ecobee4 thermostat

Also a good idea to change you setbacks quite a bit larger (remember each comfort setting has it's own setback). IIRC I did a 5 degree swing, but also using a IR heater so YMMV.

Would you buy a used torque wrench?

Today I learned that people really like to have their wheels TQ to spec.

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT My First Garage™ Playset

We hit the easy button and did a 6x10 tuff shed. Wasn't worth the time/cost of lumber at the moment we were looking to build ourselves. Only screwup was the pitch of the roof on the shed but that was my fault, otherwise nothing to note operability wise.

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT My First Garage™ Playset

Blast from the past and back in action. Lots new but primarily a new IR tube heater, it's glorious. Just have to finish up the wiring and seal up the ducts but the first trial run works great. Kind of an odd time of the year to install but when it's time it's time.

    Radiant vs. All Others

Split the difference. Go with an IR tube, quick to bring up to temp, efficient.

28x32 Garage Ceiling Insulation for MN Winter

Do you plan on finishing/painting your garage? A good coat of paint is an effective moisture barrier/retardant. With that being said, I've never seen a MN garage attic with a traditional poly vapor barrier when the attic/overhead was not being used as a conditioned living space. What I did was...

Best garage door openers for the money?

I'll chime in as well with the 8500 liftmaster however I'll point out they are slow. Like twice as slow as any comparable new belt or chain. My old garage door was ~7 seconds, now it's around 12 to completely open/close. I only say this as a negative because the homelink range in my wife's...

How to Dehumidify Basement with Multiple Sections?

I run mine from midnight to 6am every day, on continuous run, with a heavy duty timer thingy from April to Oct, 70 quart. Make sure your sump pits are sealed up well. It's WAY easier to keep the humidity down from the beginning of the season than it is to catch up later. The first year in my...

    Winter- Water pooling in garage

If you get anywhere close to a municipality, they outright ban floor drains. I'm really surprised with the number of people here that say keep the car outside. I'm in the camp that your vehicle is usually your second or third most expensive possession. May as well take care of it and put that...

    Home furnace maintenance.

Completely disagree. Sure when it comes to pressures and what not I can see that due to required certs, but for regular maintenance, no way. It's in my home and I should take the time to learn how to maintain and repair things that I can. Sadly the last HVAC company that came to my house...
