New 16' door, floor is heaved now I got gaps.

Thanks for all of the responses. The floor has definitely heaved in the middle as there is no evidence of movement between the slab and the foundation in the corners. My house is approximately 14 years old (I'm the second owner) so I think that the pad has moved all it's going too. I also...

New 16' door, floor is heaved now I got gaps.

I need some advise, I just replaced my sagged out 7x16' door on my attached garage and found out that my concrete floor is either heaved or the two corners are sagged. I have about a 1/2" gap on the one side and a 2.25" gap on the other. The door is near level so that isn't the issue. What...

Most Common 3 Car Garage Size

Will - Is there a chance you could post some pictures of your garage. I am planning on going with 12-14' walls and will have one 10x12 (or 10x10) and one 10x16 so I'm thinking 36 wide. Is 28 feet deep plenty deep enough to accommodate your trucks, benches and still have room to work off the...

Most Common 3 Car Garage Size

I am in a bit of a quandary wondering what is the most common size of 3 car garage as I am going to be building in the spring and am unsure what is best size to go with. I know the old adage that you never have enough space, but I only have limited space.

New Member Garage Drywall Question - Your Advise & Tips Please

Insulation will work both ways, keeps hot in cool out, cool in and hot out so either way I would suggest insulation. If you are planning on hanging cabinets on a particular wall, I would also suggest installing plywood on that wall before installing drywall that will make hanging the cabinets...

    The beginning of my 30x40x12

I understand that this is a floating slab (no footers) and I know that the footer is built into edge of the slab but why are there four spots where this footer area is larger (mid section of the slab). Nice start and I am planning on using a floating slab as well.

    New guy here

I've just started poking around here and I am looking for some ideas of things to incorporate into my new garage that I plan on building in the spring. The garage will be 38Wx32L with 12 or 14' walls and potentially some storage space in the attic area depending on roof pitch. I am planning on...
