Insulation will work both ways, keeps hot in cool out, cool in and hot out so either way I would suggest insulation. If you are planning on hanging cabinets on a particular wall, I would also suggest installing plywood on that wall before installing drywall that will make hanging the cabinets...

I understand that this is a floating slab (no footers) and I know that the footer is built into edge of the slab but why are there four spots where this footer area is larger (mid section of the slab). Nice start and I am planning on using a floating slab as well.
