Well, the ICM251 unit as recommended by Caligula did the trick. The fan wire is no longer run through the contactor and is instead run through this unit. Works like a charm once you get the wires hooked up (there was a small detail I missed originally, but the light bulb eventually went off...

I'll dig in and take a look. The fan runs via 240v from two wires on the board, (accessory 2, and Fan). The "fan" leg gets cut when the system tells it to turn off, so the board's default contactor is indeed closing on it. Sounds like I have to find an alternate way to trigger it to run...
