Best way to store ladders vertically while keeping tight against the wall? What's the best hardware to use?

I made wooden brackets to hang my heavy duty Werner 10 foot step ladder and 16 ft extension ladder on the wall girts. Then I use bungee chords to attached the 8 ft and 6 ft step ladders to the 10 foot step ladder.

Has anyone taken car lift back out?

I'd suggest laying out the new 45 degree locations on the floor with tape, and then go about using the garage, keeping that orientation in mind. I removed my Rotary 2 post from our previous home (narrow bay), and located it in our new pole barn (wide bay) at the new place.

    Concrete psi

And even if the batch was correct... it can be watered down, on site, before the pour, which will affect the strength. I was there on site when they poured the floor, reviewed the batch ticket and the water, uploaded that data into my computer and gave them the go ahead to pour. One truck load...

    DIY/Wood Car Stands(Cribbing)...Let's see them!

I have two of each size, built from 2 x 6 Pressure treated and T1-11 siding. Built them right after we built our 1998 unattached garage and deck project. Use the drive up ramps (see Camaro photo), then lift the rear with a floor jack, then lift the front with the floor jack. While they work...

Trying to choose flashing for OSB to brick veneer

I've built a couple of garages that had brick. We always left the concrete foundation exposed and the brick was a foot above the finished grade. Our current home has T1-11 siding, circa 1978. Same thing, the T1-11 is about a foot above grade. Seems like your inviting rot issues having the...

Is wood paneling in a garage and workshop okay?

No worries. Heck the interior of our house is covered in tongue and groove pine. It's not an issue. And it looks fantastic, awesome space.

"other" uses for a 2 post lift

Sorry for the loooong delay. The black tubing is actually the front caster extension for my engine hoist. I modified it to bolt through the holes on the flip up arms of the Rotary Lift

    Catastrophic air compressor explosion *warning*

During the failure, the crack propogated to the seam. But where the crack started, that's the real question.

The end of gas power tools in 2024

Sure. None of that is the role of the government.

Will help who? None of this is the role of the Government.

I have an electric chain saw that works great. Not as powerful though as a 2 stroke.

Are my building specs okay for a 30x50?

Curious as to what's the required design snow load in your area? Our barn is designed for a 31 psf roof snow load. As for ceiling insulation, spray foam thickness as much as you want? Also consider, the taller the side wall, the more cu-ft you have to heat.

Are my building specs okay for a 30x50?

All this talk about 12 ft or 14 ft wall height if you have a lift... it's simply not true. Our building has a 10 ft wall height and a 2 post lift. It just depends on what the end goal is. Our neighbor has a big gnarly looking 14 foot wall nearly flat roof building. It would look fine in an...

    Diagonal braces

That's an awesome building. I agree with @mcbane, get the Engineer who designed the building to come out and review the building verses the actual construction. Food for thought: Any revisions you do on your own may end up biting you in the **** if there is ever an issue with the building. By...

On a scale of 1-10, how ugly is my house?

Kudos to you for doing this yourself  Since this is "The Garage Journal" I feel compelled to ask: What's the garage going to be used for? If it's just for daily drivers... I like it. If it's for projects, painting, grinding & welding... my experience is an outbuilding would work...
