I had to go back and make sure I hadn't missed a move to the Caribbean as I don't think there are many palm trees in Canada, luckily I then saw the bit about closing on your home while on vacation.
When I was on the show "Everybody Hates Chris" we would keep a bunch of 'old cash' around because the show took place in the 80's and we couldn't use the new 20's 50's and so on.
When I worked in film at the prop house I saw another propmaster with stitches right next to his eye. He was making sure his truck was ready to move and was pulling on a bungee cord when the other end slipped. He was very lucky to get away with stitches and knew it.
Back in 1988 I did a school trip to Russia, while we were in Moscow we took a trip out to Vladimir and Suzdal. I believe we were the first group from our university that was allowed to go more than 25km outside of Moscow. I think I may have pics of this wooden church. Definitely a good trip...

The shed design where the wall are stacked boards is something I haven't seen before, is that a typical shed or barn wall in Russia? Is there a specific purpose, like you can take some of the boards out for ventilation?

For a brief moment I thought - wow, all that stuff is pretty open to the elements and the tire throwing stuff from the road . . . and then I remembered - thats the spare on top of the engine . . .
Good luck on your project, yes you are correct they covered up the skylight to control the lighting if they were using it as a theater or a studio. At least they didn't paint the skylight!
