Could you use an old ladder for the frame? It would probably need a bit of strengthening to handle the torque but it could be a good start. Good luck!

When I was on the show "Everybody Hates Chris" we would keep a bunch of 'old cash' around because the show took place in the 80's and we couldn't use the new 20's 50's and so on.

When I worked in film at the prop house I saw another propmaster with stitches right next to his eye. He was making sure his truck was ready to move and was pulling on a bungee cord when the other end slipped. He was very lucky to get away with stitches and knew it.

Back in 1988 I did a school trip to Russia, while we were in Moscow we took a trip out to Vladimir and Suzdal. I believe we were the first group from our university that was allowed to go more than 25km outside of Moscow. I think I may have pics of this wooden church. Definitely a good trip...

The shed design where the wall are stacked boards is something I haven't seen before, is that a typical shed or barn wall in Russia? Is there a specific purpose, like you can take some of the boards out for ventilation? I too had a toolbox like your Dad's I think it was something my dad made...

Good luck on your project, yes you are correct they covered up the skylight to control the lighting if they were using it as a theater or a studio. At least they didn't paint the skylight!
