Two post lift: wide or narrow configuration?

I recently installed a Challenger CL12A-2 (the "-2" is adjustable to be wider and taller) and had it setup at maximum width and height. I love it. The width makes it easy to exit even my 2500 mega cab, which is the largest vehicle I intend to lift. The height does not affect the travel, but I...

    Big ceiling fan

I'm in the final stages of building a 50x100 shop with 16' walls myself. We installed a single 18' Big *** Fan model Basic 6 in the center of the shop. It's hung from the roof peak of ~24' with a beam mount and extension tube cut to 3' which gives us a about 3' of clearance to the beams at the...

Under vehicle lift sloping and spill control

Epoxy is going in as soon as the floor is ready for it. You're right, I've never had anything spread out that far. The trench sounds like a reasonable idea, but probably overkill. Under vehicle lift sloping and spill control

Under vehicle lift sloping and spill control

I'm not required to have a floor drain, I just don't want an accidental spill flow to a wall, etc. before I can contain it. I will have a box of absorbent mats available. I'm just trying to think ahead before the slab is poured in a week or so.

Under vehicle lift sloping and spill control

Very true and it seems that coolant tends to splatter much more out of the pan when hoses are disconnected because of both viscosity and flow rate out of a radiator, water pump, thermostat opening, etc.

Under vehicle lift sloping and spill control

I'm building a garage/workshop which will include a two post vehicle lift for maintenance and hobby. The city I live in requires an oil/water separator if a floor drain is installed there, so I'm looking for ideas for controlling the occasional spill of coolant or oil as well as best practices...
