Cosmetics are important for my plans. Even if I have to give up a little I had to install it the way I did.

While I am not sure this is accurate due to the emissivity but it's something. It's not my video but it does show that it makes a nice difference no matter which way it's facing.

This is not worth watching. I just made it as an afterthought. I have 3 cameras in the garage that record 24/7 so I thought why not.

I am not sure if the direction makes a difference but the other side of the foam looked like hell.

I went to 5 different places to find the dense foam with no luck. In the end the 1-1/2" thick foam that I picked up had a higher R rating than the better 1" that I could find. So, I did what I could for now. It's not my long term door so this should be okay for now.

Thanks for the help everyone. I think I will hit a big box store for some foam with a reflective side and give that a go.

I purchased it direct. I used a standard non painted staple and I stapled it to the rafters. Be prepared to make a zillion trips up and down a ladder.

Are you asking about the foil that is covering the insulation? If so it's made by atticfoil
