    Most reliable snow blower?

Gravely Snow Cannon. It has that name for a reason. That coupled with a Gravely with a Kohler K series engine is nearly indestructible.

How did i do? Craftsman 5hp 22"/2stage snowblower

Nice score, although I do have you beat on the deal. My neighbor gave me a very similar one with a flat tire for FREE. He pays someone to plow his driveway now. That one went to my father in law and I kept my $25 Toro CCR 2000. After a carb clean and adjustment it has been good to go. Best...

cordless tools, what's your favorite ?

Rigid solely for the battery warranty. If I used my cordless tools more I could maybe justify another brand.

    Need help/advise on a blower

I'm wondering if for your existing blower it might be the fuel cap. If you're thinking about a backpack I'm a fan of RedMax units. As someone that ran them professionally for years I found them to be generally bulletproof. I have a 1/3 ac. lot with a lot of trees. The one I have now is a...

    China wrench fail

Nah, Fendts cost way more money, and depending on the dealer support he has, Deere may be the best and cheapest option. BTW, I always liked 2640's. Nice size for smaller jobs. I forget were those made in Germany or Iowa?

Buy USA/Europe vs. Asian COO especially China?

Interesting explanation on the cultural issues. I could very much see how the culture of the employees and supplier as a whole can make or break a product.

    Anyone use/have a Stihl Weed-weacker, trimmer?

Good summary SMKS. Also, Shindaiwa was bought by Kroritz, the parent company of Echo around 2007-ish. There is some model crossover in the lines, but they are mostly separate. I actually have a Shindaiwa-badged Echo blower. I'm hearing mixed reviews on the newer Tanaka stuff. It seems to go...

    Anyone use/have a Stihl Weed-weacker, trimmer?

Spent about 7 years working on golf courses where trimmers got a good workout. They went out every day and got little maintenance. We had Stihl 4-mix trimmers and they were pretty bad - heavy and require a good bit of attention. The first to go off the rack were some of our Tanakas, Shimdys...

Why are Hilti cordless drills impact drivers overlooked so often?

We have a Hilti guy in our area. He drives around in a pickup plastered with Hilti all over it, similar to the tool trucks if you will. A contractor friend of mine says he is picking up more and more of the brand. The biggest reason, like the tool trucks, is service. If he has a broken...

What's the best tool truck brand to work for?

For those that sell the truck brands or those who are in the know with things, what is the best truck brand to work for? I'm not looking to go into the business by any means but was curious to see if one company is better to work for than another. I'm sure Snap-on would be one of the easiest...

    Husky, Kobalt, or Craftsman Socket

Decided to drag up an old thread here... Was in Home Depot yesterday getting paint and wanted to look at the Apex made Husky tools. What impressed me the most was that many of their sets (particularily the cheap 1/4 and 3/8 drive set) didn't skip sizes and went to 3/8 drive 19mm and 7/8. I...

Your Favorite Small Gas Engine Tools!

Some of my favorites are a good hose pick and a 1/4 inch hand driver that accepts a 1/4 inch ratchet on the handle. I also love my E-Z tach for keeping my chain saws just on the edge of blowing up:).

More Chinese wrenches, higher prices at Lowes

So I was taking my usual stroll to Lowes (I seriously walk there from my house) to kill some time and look around. I've been watching the Kobalt Taiwan-made 7 and 11 piece wrench lately since more and more of the blister packs are showing up with Chinese wrenches. Well I go to pick up the $40...

Napa has GW SAE or Metric on sale $29.99

I'd spend $50 and get the 20 piece at Sears then. They were online at that price as of last night and they were at that price in the store around father's day. I had a $10 off $50 in tools in-store coupon and they said they would have rewarded it if I would have picked up the 20 piece set.
