I have been having a similar problem with the standard magnetic tape being too weak. I actually just ordered some Neodymium tape (hasn't arrived yet) and I'm going to stick my own labels onto it.....but its pretty expensive, which is ok if it works well and lasts! (Not sure what the rules are...
