It just says you can't build a secondary living area. One neighbor tried to have a single wide parked behind his house. The other neighbors pointed him to the rules in our paperwork and they had to come remove the trailer. He later sold his house and moved. We are out of the city limits but...
The guys are coming this weekend to pick up all the wood and clean up a bit. Then the long wait comes. I'm still working up my shopping list for steel and figuring out how much overtime I'm going to need to work this winter to build this sucker.
I missed a lot of the action due to work, but I got a few pics.
The only pics I have from concrete day came from the concrete guy. He texted me some pics while I was in Tulsa working.
You can see in the pics we added the plates in the slab to weld the beams to. They are 1/2"...
I've always wanted a large shop to work on my junk and store my Jeep parts. I have a little over an acre of property and the back yard is most of the acre. That was one reason I wanted to buy this house, lots of space for a shop.
It will take me a long time to build this shop while I work...
Cause I will be running power to my new shop when it's built and my distance will be twice as long as his. So him paying over $3000 could mean I'll be over $5000-6000. I can rent the equipment and dig a trench for a hell of a lot less than that, but they wouldn't let him dig his own trench and...
After it is built and things moved inside I will then look at building a small loft. It will be easier to access the loft area than stuff in our attic. My wife has a ton of Christmas **** that I have to load in the attic every year. But the loft idea is minor and I'm not building to factor...
I'll see if I can post this pic. This is the general idea of what I'm building. I just want 3 vehicle bays for maint and parking out of the weather since our 2 daily drivers don't fit in the garage.
I think this pic was created with 12' side walls in mind. It's from the 3d building...
I wouldn't think twice for $800, but at over $3000 it *****.
Our homes were built in 2008, so it's pretty modern construction. We are outside the city limits by maybe 1/2 mile. It's just a small dead end street with maybe 12 houses. We all have one acre plots.
I'll have to contact them...
Can't wait to see how much they want to run mine. I may have to see if they can run another pole and bring it in from above instead of buried. More to save up for as I build my shop
I have been using Bayer Tempo. I get it from the farm feed stores. You just mix a small amount in a gallon garden sprayer and start spraying it everywhere. I use it in the house, around the house and in the garage. The next day my driveway and sidewalk are usually covered in dead bugs. The...
They handed him a meter box and he mounted that on the outside of his shop. They dug the trench and put in the grey PVC up to his meter box. They installed the wires to the meter. No transformer or anything special. He doesn't have a welder or anything special to run in the shop yet, he's...
My neighbor built his own steel shop building, slab included and then started prepping for the electrical power. He was going to trench it and run the conduit and wires and then let the power company come hook it up. They told him they would not allow it and charged him over $3000 to run power...
Yep, I want to go with 12' wide doors cause I plan to park my new dually in there most of the time and she's got wide hips. It would be fine with 10' wide doors, but 12' is better. And if my wife is parking her truck in there very often I want her to have plenty of space so she doesn't hit...
