Availability of 7" grinding wheels for a Craftsman Block Grinder. A couple of questions please...

That's a darn good question. I often thought of doing that on my Baldor since 8s are so much more common than 7s. I can only offer an opinion as I'm not an expert but here's my thoughts. The arbor size must match (I know, its a duh), and I'd stay with a 1 inch width as well. I think it would...

    How to best proceed.

Sounds like you intend to keep the car for a while. You haven't mentioned OEM availability, maybe check with a dealer for availability in their network. If unavailable through KIA, you could ask their service dept mgr what/who they would attempt to procure parts through. Just my 2¢ worth.

Availability of 7" grinding wheels for a Craftsman Block Grinder. A couple of questions please...

I have a 7" Baldor bench grinder bought back in '92 or so. Great unit, served me well for automotive / mechanic general shop use as well as general home/ranch use. You are correct that the 6 & 8 inch grinders seem to be the popular sizes. A while back I also had similar thoughts of did I buy...

Glad you survived and posting your hard-learned lesson. I will be scrapping my thoughts about doing a very similar project down the road. I'm considering myself to be schooled by your lesson. All the best on a full recovery and thanks again for posting.

    Low-yield well solutions?

I've lived with water wells most of my life and have had a number of problems crop up over the years (comes with the territory). My most recent one was a corroded discharge pipe (connects submerged well pump and rises up to grade level well head) and created a very low flow output similar to...

    Recommended garage air compressor?

Are you limited to 120v or do you have 240v available. Seems Quincy and Champion have solid reputations. My 5hp 240v 1ø mag starter compressor was built in '90 by a compressor/motor shop so it's not a name brand unit but no problems. A motor speed of 1725-ish rpm, compressor speed of 950 rpm...
